The second half of the second page-

I spent a lot of time looking at Dan Decarlo's art before doing these. After my move I might pick up the book "Innocence and Seduction". It's a collection of his pinups.

From left to right- (in the distance) Jughead Jones, Big Ethel, Betty Cooper, Veronica Lodge, and Valerie Brown (originally Smith).


I would like to make a retraction in my earlier post! It turns out that Josie's last name Jones was in an early version of the comic! It was also sometimes James, I think. Her current last name is McCoy. It's also the last name that was used in movie, which I did not see.

Orwell was just a couple of years early.

A while ago I showed a few things from England's paranoid war on crime. Before I get to what I want to show I want to do a little recap, feel free to skip to the bottom if you know all of this stuff already. Citizens are being encouraged to be watchful of each other and report strange activities such as rifling through one's own garbage, there is a cctv camera for ever fourteen people (or some I'm told, the police brutality has increase, and petty criminals are still as plentiful as they have been.

An article on a CCTV camera that has policemen watching a live feed who are able to scold people via a speaker for jaywalking, riding a bike on the sidewalk, littering, etc. Read it HERE.

All of this has lead to a civilian organization called "Fit Watch". These people follow England's Foward Intelligence Teams to protests and whatnot with cameras in order to watch the watchmen. Often times Fit Watch members themselves will get arrested for obstruction and assault, but almost always have the charges dropped later.

Here's what I wanted to get to:
The Guardian recently released footage of one of the arrests that took place last year. One woman was going around to all of the police writing down their badge numbers. When one of them refused to give her his number she told another woman she was with to take photographs of the officer so that they could file a complaint about him later. When the second photo is taken both women are forced to the ground and handcuffed. One of them is given full body cuffs. Here is the video of the arrest.

This is the first half of page two! I venture further into the wonderful world of secondary characters. Page one only had Dilton Doily (I'm not including Hot Dog since he had his own title for a while).

Here we have, from right to left: Pop Tate, Cheryl Blossom, Della- high witch of the witch's council (in the live action television series starring Melissa Joan Hart Della lost her heels and fishnets and became Dell, portrayed by magician and comedian Penn Fraser Jillette), and lastly, the 50's era Archie Andrews.

Archie Sketch Cards

5finity release Archie Sketch Cards to raise money for the March of Dimes. I was fortunate enough to be a part of it and now that the packs have been released and almost sold out it's very safe for me to post these.
I did three sheets of eight, but I'll only be posting 4 at a time.

These were a lot of fun to do. I haven't looked at Archie comics in a long time because they're so bad nowadays. In fact, they've been bad the entire time I've been alive, but they used to be so good. That's the Archie that I was trying to draw.

For those who don't know, "stroke" in photoshop is a line that you can put around your image and you can adjust the thickness of the line. In flash, stroke adjusts the thickness of lines, but not brush strokes.

Rat Pile

This is the TENTH tiny painting. I should take a photo of this one. There's a lot of layered white paint that you just can't see because the scanner didn't pick up the textures.

Aww. Rats are too cute. Well, fancy rats are. I would still be a little on edge if there were sewer/canal/1984 rats in the vicinity.

So I'll be moving to my new apartment soon, and I can finally start looking into getting a wall decal. They're a great solution to having walls that you're not allowed to alter (I can put put pictures, but I can't paint). I want a text one, but I need to figure out the text. Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

So, I'm still getting the Archie out of my system. It took me a long time to get a lot of my references because google is flooded with the new shit. If you want to be sad for the rest of the day, look up Sabrina. It's awful! It's bad enough that Dan Decarlo got nothing from the tv show, but they're white washing his designs out as well- and poorly at that.
