Should I keep going with this?
I'm not sure if I'm going to do a finished version of this sketch. It might work well as a gouache painting.

In retrospect, it was probably "novel", but the New York Times was never a reliable source.

editors note: HAHAHA. I am a little sick and while doing the crossword, this came up and I HAD TO stumble out of bed and doodle out the comic before I fell asleep and forgot about it. I made a post and then went back to bed. THEN while in bed, I remembered that the book that Dan Brown wrote was "Angels and Demons", NOT "Devils and Angels". So, I hopped out of bed AGAIN, reopened the post and wrote this. Now my head really hurts and I am going to bed for hopefully the last time.

Fail? Maybe.
I was thinking of doing four pieces based on the elements, but now that it's done, I would rather do the four humors. I know, they're TECHNICALLY the same thing (earth-black bile, fire-yellow bile, water- phelgm, air-blood, or all four combined). I really have no idea what I would do with that. Maybe four pieces that represented the state of mind/element that each one represented, but that sounds a little lame.

I don't like this drawing. It's boring and muddy.

The second Bibliophile bookmark.
I had way too much fun drawing this one. It's got three of my favorite things- pencil skirt, cuban heel stockings, and a library with a ladder. It is my hope, that one day, I too will have a library with a ladder.
By the way- that future library will have Bill Presing's "Belle Du Jour". It came in the mail! Thanks to everyone who helped me track it down. Stuart Ng Books is a great place for finding rare art books at a price that isn't insane. I got a signed out-of-print book for the cover price. THAT is pretty awesome.

Working on a series of book marks.
This is number one. I don't know how many there will be. That will depend on how many book themed ones I can think of.

So, apparently you can get cherry flavored Pac Man energy drinks now. That disappoints me a little. I want caffeinated Pac Man astronaut ice cream that comes in a can.
I wanted to show the sketches for these drawings alongside of the finished pieces. I've put more effort into figuring them out first that I do most stuff, and I think it's worth seeing. Personally, I like seeing where things start from and what kind of changes have been made along the way.

Boo.
It would seem like the display on my cintiq is skewed. That last post is all squished, but I didn't realize until this morning.

FLYING MONKEY
Whoot. I am finally 100% caught up. That's pretty awesome. I hope it lasts- but I don't know- the weekends are always what kill me.
Speaking of weekends- I'm going to be at Webcomics Weekend next Saturday and Sunday. It should be a fun couple of days of art and hanging out.
And- a month from now, I will hopefully have a little table at The Boston Burlesque Expo. We'll see. I only JUST got an e-mail about it.

Modular Art
Sorry I couldn't get a better photo of this. I got a few deep frames from Ikea and stretched some cotton over these wooden frames that they have inside of the frame(those are there to keep the art that you put in them pushed back). I started off with only four (in case I hated it), but I want to keep working on these and get a wall full of them.
The idea is that the piece itself can keep growing with the addition of more frames and the look of it can change at any time by moving the frames around.
At some point I'm going to cut the wires in the back and re-do them so that they all hand in the same way. I want them to all be the same except for the pattern in the middle.

editor's note: apparently I cannot get these frames from the website. A lot of their inventory on the site says that it's not available for online purchase, these aren't even THERE.

...FOR SCIENCE!
Robot Learns To Love, Turns In Your Ex.
THE BIONIC (eye) MAN!
Saturn- the sneakiest of planets.
If that is too much science, here is a funny dog to make your brain stop hurting.
